Dr. Stephanie Johnson, PsyD, MSCP

CEO/ Chief Psychologist

Dr. Stephanie Johnson is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 14 years of working in the mental health care field. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of La Verne and has received her postdoctoral masters degree in clinical psychopharmacology. She has gained experience at Aurora Charter Oaks Hospital where she worked with inpatients suffering from acute psychiatric disorders and patients with dual diagnoses in the residential treatment facility. She has worked as a certified sex offender treatment provider. Her postdoctoral training included working at several medical clinics in Southern California where she trained in behavioral medicine and worked with patients of all age groups that suffered from chronic pain, depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Dr. Johnson provides Independent Medical Evaluations, worker’s compensation evaluations, presurgical evaluations for bariatric surgery, adult ADHD evaluations, and psychodiagnostic evaluations. Dr. Johnson is an EMDR certified clinician and specializes in the treatment of PTSD. She also uses CBT, Internal Family Systems, and Ego State therapy to aid her clients in the healing process. Dr. Johnson is a military police officer veteran who served in the United States Army and she has a passion for helping first responders and veterans.

Dr. Elsa Ferris, Psy.D.

VP of Operations/Psychologist

Dr. Elsa Ferris is a licensed psychologist with over 8 years of experience specializing in child, adolescent, and family care. After graduating from the University of La Verne, Dr. Ferris received training in Parent Child Interaction Therapy and Functional Family Therapy, which focuses on increasing the quality of relationships between children and teenagers and their parents. Dr. Ferris furthered her skills in bringing families together during her Post Doctoral year at Kaiser Permanente, where she facilitated individual and group treatment while providing comprehensive mental healthcare alongside medical professionals. Today, Dr. Ferris seeks to help people so that they can transform into their ideal selves. In doing so, Dr. Ferris treats adults, couples, families, teenagers, and children. Dr. Ferris is also certified in EMDR to better provide patients with efficient and effective trauma treatment. Other areas that Dr. Ferris has training in include Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Dr. Ferris has utilized her training to lead therapy groups on various topics, which have included Parenting Skills, Parenting Today’s Teen, Children’s Worry Group, and Teens’ Depression and Anxiety Group. In individual treatment, Dr. Ferris helps those who struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, anger, and grief.

Dr. Sandra Rice, Psy.D.

Psychologist

Hello, my name is Dr. Sandra Rice. I am a licensed clinical psychologist in California. I earned my master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University, then went on to earn my doctorate in Clinical Forensic Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I have worked within the criminal justice system with parolees and incarcerated individuals for the past 8 years. Previously, I worked with children in foster care as well as adults living in a homeless transitional program. These experiences have taught me how to show warmth and empathy to my clients, regardless of their past or present life circumstances. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches with my clients ranging from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing and Narrative Therapy,

Corina Monter, MFT

Clinician

Corina Monter is a licensed marriage and family therapist who earned her master’s degree in counseling psychology from Argosy University. She has 7 years of experience working with children, families, adolescents, and adults. She has also gained experience working with couples and aims to help them build stronger relationships. She is a first-generation Mexican American. She has been providing services to the Latinx community and has a focus on guiding them through the process of treatment. She enjoys working with clients on identifying intergenerational trauma and breaking unhealthy generational cycles. In working with her
community, she recognizes that setting healthy boundaries is key to having healthy relationships. She works with clients that are struggling with anxiety, depression, communication difficulties, and other mental health concerns. She is certified in EMDR therapy and works with clients to help process their traumatic experiences. Corina is also a fluent Spanish speaker.

Dr. Ashley Bauman, Psy.D.

Clinician

Dr. Ashley Bauman is a licensed psychologist specializing in adult and older adult mental health treatment. She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis. She completed an internship and postdoctoral training at Pacific Clinics, a community mental health clinic, where she provided therapy and testing to adult and older adult clients. She also has experience working in skilled nursing facilities and inpatient psychiatric hospitals. She is trained in EMDR in order to help clients to process their trauma. Her therapy style centers on the idea that the most effective healing comes when core issues are identified and worked through in a safe, trusting environment. Dr. Bauman helps those who struggle with depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, and personality disorders. She strives to create a therapeutic environment tailored to each client’s unique experience and needs, including a commitment to diversity and consideration of how one’s culture affects their mode of relating and expressing themselves.

Sorayda Gonzalez, LMFT

Sorayda is a bilingual licensed marriage and family therapist who earned her masters degree in marriage family therapy at the University of La Verne. She has 5 years of experience working with families, children, and adolescents. Sorayda has completed training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Play Therapy, and Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP). Sorayda has used her training to work with clients struggling with past trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and anger. Sorayda believes in meeting the client where they are at in life by providing a safe and non-judgmental space.

Maria Rheba Estante, LMFT

Maria Rheba Estante is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and graduate of Golden Gate University with a Masters in Psychology. She began her clinical experience in 2013 as a graduate practicum student in a County mental health clinic serving a dual diagnosis adult population. After nearly a decade working with social service agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area, including crisis work and with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) at a Methadone Clinic, she obtained specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Habit Reversal Training (HRT). Her main treatment focus is on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Trichotillomania, and Excoriation Disorder. Other therapeutic skills include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), and Solutions Focused Therapy (SFT). She is a Certified Level One Solutions Focused Therapist and completed Level One training of the Gottman Method for Couples Counseling. Her style is collaborative, client centered, and culturally sensitive with lived experience of being a legal immigrant twice – first as a child to Canada and an adult to the United States. Outside of work she is a pet parent to 2 German Shepherd mixes and a fan of Ethiopian and Swedish cuisine. 

Emily Aihara, LMFT

Emily Aihara is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 6 years of experience providing psychotherapy.  She obtained her Master’s Degree from Pepperdine’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology and has received training in EMDR.  Her traineeship consisted of providing individual and group therapy services to underserved adult populations in LA County.  Emily subsequently worked for the County of Orange providing crisis mental health assessments to children adolescents.  She has also provided individual, group, and crisis intervention services to incarcerated youth.  She is focused on using EMDR to help clients tap into their natural healing abilities and find new, adaptive ways of being.

Hello! My name is Mishka, and I am Summit Psychological’s smartly dressed furry friend. I aim to greet every client with a smile and give them lots of love and support to help them through tough times. I am also currently in training to be a therapy dog so I can better help those in need. I look forward to seeing you at your next visit!
